About this policy
This policy explains what Ginger Liveries collects through this site, why, which services handle it for me, and what happens when you delete your account.
Who this is for
This site is for people who are 18 or older. If you are younger, you need a parent or guardian's permission first.
What I collect
- Your account: your email address and how you sign in (a password, Google or Discord). Sign in is run by Clerk, which holds your password if you set one.
- Your profile: the Discord handle and iRacing name you save, and whether you want an email when a draft is ready.
- Your orders: the service, the brief (the game, car, number, name on the car, description and links), the reference images you upload, the files I deliver, the price, the revision rounds, your email address and your Discord handle.
- Payments: the PayPal references for the payment, when you paid, and any refund. PayPal also returns details about the payer with each payment, including their name and email address and possibly an address; I keep them with the order to match payments to orders, and they are not shown to customers.
- Contact messages: the name, email address, Discord handle, service and message you send through the contact form, the browser details it sends with them (its user agent), and any notes I add while replying.
- Reviews: the name you choose to show, your rating, your review and the team or series you add. Once I approve a review it is shown publicly.
- Uploads: a record of each file you upload, linked to your account, and a count of your uploads in the last 24 hours, which I use to cap how many you can upload in a day.
Why I collect it
I use this to make and deliver your livery, take payment, reply to you and run your account.
Who handles it
- Clerk runs accounts and sign in, including a bot check on sign up and sign in (Cloudflare Turnstile) and the cookies that keep you signed in.
- PayPal takes payments. This site sends PayPal only the amount, the currency and the order number; what you give PayPal is covered by PayPal's own privacy policy.
- UploadThing stores the reference images you upload and the files I deliver.
- MongoDB Atlas is the database that holds your orders, profile, contact messages and reviews.
- Resend sends the order emails: the receipt when you pay, and notices when work starts, when a draft is ready (you can turn this one off) and when the livery is delivered.
- Vercel hosts the site. Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast pages load; it does not run on the sign in and sign up pages.
- Discord carries notifications to me: a new contact message (your name, email address, Discord handle and the start of the message), a paid order (your email address, Discord handle, part of the brief and the amount) and a delivered order (your email address).
- Google reCAPTCHA checks the contact form for spam, on that page only.
In your browser
Clerk sets cookies to keep you signed in. The site also keeps a few choices in your browser's storage: your light or dark theme, whether you dismissed the announcement, and whether page animations have already played during this visit.
How long it is kept
Orders are kept as business records, and contact messages and reviews are kept too. I have not set a period after which orders, contact messages or reviews are deleted.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from your account settings.
Your sign in and the saved Discord handle and iRacing name are removed. Orders are kept as business records, with the email address, Discord handle and name on the car they were placed with. Your files stay available on request.
In more detail: your saved profile is removed within a day, and the record of your uploads and your upload count are deleted. Your orders stay, no longer linked to an account, with the brief, the reference images, the delivered files and the payment record. Reviews you left stay published under the name you chose. Contact messages are not affected, because they are not tied to an account. Ask me and I will remove your contact messages or reviews.
